*W  The XUpdater HyperCard stack allows you to easily update Software Perspectives XCMDs 
Yand/or XFCNs.  This system uses 
Update Modules
 to update a particular external.  These 
[update Modules are posted to online services so that non-registered users can benefit from 
the features of the upgrades.

Updating an XCMD/XFCN
^To update an old version of a Software Perspectives XCMD/XFCN, you will first need to acquire 
1the update module from your local online service.
TThe update module has an icon which looks like a document with the same look as the 
VXUpdater program itself.  It contains the resources which are required to update your 
XCMD or XFCN.
*YStart by launching the XUpdater application.   After the program loads, you will see two 
@buttons labelled 
Select Old Version
 and 
Update
 respectively.
_The first step is to click the 
Select Old Version
 button and choose the stack which contains 
$the old version of the XCMD or XFCN.
YNext, click the 
Update
 button.  The software will now ask you to locate and select the 
Update Module.
[Once you have opened the update module, the update process begins immediately.  When it is 
(completed, the software will inform you.
